Hi, my name is Thomas and I have been taking photos for just over a year now. Taking photos has become a normal thing in my daily to weekly planner. I aim to take a photo every week or as many as I possibly can. I am based on the Bellarine Peninsula which show cases amazing views and scenery for the public. This has been a helpful guide to practice my composition and more. As I have become more interested and more persistent with my photography I have begun to submit some of my photos into comps, one of them being the City of Greater Geelong Calendar. This was an amazing opportunity to get my work out there and show what I could do. There was over 1,000 entries from the least experienced to professional photographers which make money off it for a living. Only 13 photos could make it in (all of the months and front cover). My photo had made it through to the top 24 photos. I was ecstatic, I would have never had thought I would make it this far. The next step was a voting thing by the public. To get the best chance of getting through I put it up on all of my social media hoping that I could get lots of people to vote. This worked meaning I had got through, my photo was in the calendar. I was so happy. I have now started to sell my own prints and wish to do so for a long time to come. I wish to take many more photos and just enjoy every part of it.
